Do you have morning routines or habits?

Over the years , I have learned that morning routines can certainly make or break your day for sure. I believe that we all have some kind of control over how our day kicks off, we have the power to set the tone for our day. I have been on a self-care habits kick recently; The older I get, the more I realize how much impact my daily habits have on my mood, emotion and overall well- being.
Everyone's morning routine will differ; It all depends on your stage in life, circumstances and schedule. It's vital to understand what works for one person, may not work for another matter. This is why, I urge you do a few trails and see what best works for you; if you're interested in that kind of stuff of course. For me, setting a tone first thing in the morning helps navigate most of life's surprises.
My morning routine has pretty much evolved over the last 3 years. Like I previously mentioned, as I grow I learn and as I learn, I try my best to apply what I learn to benefit my life. So I thought " why not share what's working for me"-

Keep the phone at a distance
1. I'm not sure I consider this a morning thing, but I realized that my phone is the first thing that I subconsciously look for as soon as I wake up. So to get rid of this habit, I place it as far away from my bed as possible the night before. I don't know about you but scrolling down social media first thing in the morning is not the best way to start my day.
What alarm?
2. I got rid off my darn alarm. Yes I said it, I no longer need an alarm to wake up on time. This was a very hard habit to break I must admit, I struggled a bit. Now after a great night of sleep, My body wakes me up. Of course I sometimes have off days where the bed feels like heaven and I don't want to detached myself; we all have those day. I came up with a little technique that helps me with those "5 more minutes days". As soon as I wake I count to 10 and simply get up. I don't give myself time to think or convince my brain that I need more sleep- I am not sure how, but it works wonders for me.
Make the bed

3. Making the bed first thing in the morning makes me feel like I have accomplished the first difficult task of the day. It is a small and simple habit but it truly encourages me to keep the rest of my living space tidy. Last but not least, after a long day, coming home to a neatly made bed is a great feeling.

Start your day doing something positive.
4. Once I get myself up around 5:30am, the first thing I do is set a positive focus. For me,that's giving thanks for all that I am grateful for, praying and meditating. I then make a cup detox tea ( usually hot water, lemon, apple cider vinegar and cinnamon) not the tastiest drink but it gets the job done. While drinking my tea, I listen to motivational affirmations for about 20 minutes depending on the day. This is probably my favorite morning habit because I usually get inspired while listening to amazing people affirming positive energy over my life. Now, doing these things first thing in the morning doesn't guarantee me a perfect day, but they set the tone and make me feel more equipped for whats to come. Hope it helps 🥰🤗
